About Us

Juan Carlos Briceño has more than three decades of experience in photography, with subjects ranging from blushing brides to coral reefs to the sunsets of Cancun and, personalities like President George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, YoYoMa and many others.

Juan Carlos began his career in 1987 as an assistant at one of the most prestigious wedding photography studios in Mexico City. He went on to photograph new talent – singers, models, and actors – for Televisa, one of the major television networks in Latin America.

Juan Carlos, a dive master, then moved to Cozumel and took his photography into the waters of the Caribbean. His underwater photography skills earned him the opportunity to serve as a project coordinator for underwater still photography and video for the National Polytechnic Institute in Yucatan. During his time in Cozumel, he took part in the largest ever-recorded coral transplant in Mexico.

Upon his return to Cancun, he began photographing such subjects as the Mayan natives and remote islands for magazines such as Cancunisimo, Cancun Tips, and Xcaret, while photographing weddings and receptions for the Fiesta Americana Hotels and Thompson Travel, British wedding services.

Juan Carlos moved to the United States in 1999, where he began working as an assistant manager, photographer, and coordinator for the commercial photography branch of the studio of The Photographer’s Gallery. Worked for almost four years with the most demanding wedding and event photographers and coordinators of the area.

In late 2003 he opened his own studio, FotoBriceno.

Today, October of 2017, FotoBriceno continues to grow and improve the quality of the photography and services. Always delivering consistent results and many times, beyond the client’s expectations.

Amongst his regular clients are; The Smithsonian Institution, DLA Piper, Latina Style Magazine, Bravo! Events, Design Cuisine, Linder & Associates, Mercedes Benz, National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Baker & Hostetler, Institute for International Education, and many more.

And as he moved to North Carolina over 4 years ago, he was able to open a sister studio “The Modern Portrait” where he photographs, families, commercial real estate and headshots for industry professionals who need to look great in pictures!

Juan Carlos is a very happy husband and father of 3 children, a 22 year old… woman, a 12 girl, and a 10-year-old boy.
